App Store Metadata Character Counter
Live character counts for the three indexed App Store fields — title (30), subtitle (30) and the keyword field (100) — with duplicate and stopword warnings so you never waste a character. Free, runs in your browser.
The rules Apple's search actually plays by
- Title 30 · Subtitle 30 · Keyword field 100. The keyword field is comma-separated, no spaces, and never shown to users.
- Apple indexes words from the title, subtitle and keyword field together — a search matches if all its words appear anywhere across the three.
- Never repeat a word across fields (or against your brand name): duplicates don't boost anything, they just burn characters. This tool flags them.
- Skip generic stopwords (app, free, the, for…) in the keyword field — Apple ignores them and they waste space. Flagged too.
- Singular/plural are folded by Apple for English — store only one form.
Counting is the easy part — knowing which words earn their characters is the hard part.
